Jet2 flight makes emergency landing into Glasgow Airport due to medical incident

A Jet2 flight from Lanzarote to Glasgow was forced to make an emergency landing after a medical incident onboard.

The aircraft departed from César Manrique-Lanzarote Airport at 3.18pm local time but on it's descent into Glasgow declared an emergency 'Squawk 770' over the Irish sea around 7.05pm on Friday, December 15.

Jet2 confirmed to the Record a passenger needed medical attention and a call was made to request priority landing.

The condition of the person who took unwell is currently unknown.

The plane touched down safely in Scotland at 7.22pm.

A Jet2 spokesperson said: "The crew on flight LS168 requested priority landing due to a customer requiring medical attention."
