On February 19, 2020, Brisbane, Australia resident and mother Yarraka Bayles picked up her nine-year-old son, Quaden, from school and was met with such a horrific scene, she began live streaming on Facebook. You see, young Quaden was born with a type of dwarfism called achondroplasia, which is the most common form. Quaden wants to attend public school and have fun while he gets his education, but bullies are making it impossible for him. Instead of playing with friends and enjoying learning, he is being tormented and bullied on a daily basis. On Wednesday, Yarraka couldn’t bear it anymore. Her son was hysterical, begging for a knife or a rope. He cried hysterically and scratched at his neck and begged for someone to kill him.
Yarraka broke down and turned to the world for help. She explained the educators are failing to protect Quaden and the bullying is on a daily basis — so too are the suicide attempts.
Yarraka’s video has gone viral and spread across the world. One comedian, who also has dwarfism, Brad Williams, started a Go Fund Me for Quaden. The goal was to raise $10,000 to send Quaden and his mother to an all-expenses-paid trip to Disneyland.
The Go-Fund-Me has also gone viral and has over $200,000 and is still growing.

After Brad Williams saw the viral video, he was immediately moved. Quaden’s story identified with his own as someone who also has dwarfism and he immediately set out to help.
Brad Williams shared the following message on Twitter that also went viral and drew support for the young boy worldwide.
Brad stated, “I’ve set up a GoFundMe to send brave Quaden and his mother to Disneyland. Let’s show a bullied kid that he is loved!”

Yarraka made it abundantly clear that bullying causes suicidal thoughts and behaviors. Quaden has every right to live a healthy, happy life as anyone else. He deserves to go to school and feel safe and be free from threats, ridicule, danger, and harm.
